The Art of Self Love - Abhyanga

Daily Oil Massage (Abhyanga)

A massage does not always have to be a luxurious treat saved for a special occasion! Ever thought of treating yourself as often as you want to a warm oil massage in the comforts of your very own room?

Abhyanga, practiced for thousands of years is the Ayurvedic practice of daily self- massage with warm oil. It takes only 15 minutes and can benefit you greatly throughout the day.

Just like you, we scoffed at the very idea of taking 15 minutes to give ourselves a massage! I mean honestly who has the time??? But it's easier than you think and oh so worth it! Once you make it your daily routine it becomes a valuable part of your life.

Here are some of the benefits traditionally associated with Abhyanga:-
✔️Increased circulation, especially to nerve endings
✔️Toning of the muscles
✔️Calming for the nerves
✔️Lubrication of the joints
✔️Increased mental alertness
✔️Improved elimination of impurities from the body
✔️Softer, smoother skin
✔️Increased levels of stamina through the day
✔️Better, deeper sleep at night
✔️Dissolves accumulated stress & toxins

If your schedule doesn't allow for a daily massage, try to squeeze it in at least three or four times a week. Or better yet, spice it up! Grab your partner and do this massage on each other on the weekends!
HOW TO USE

Apply all over post-shower

Before toweling off and while your skin is still damp, drop oil over your entire body. Massage into skin until it is absorbed. A little goes a long way and works wonders to replenish dry skin.

*Applying a body oil on damp skin seals in the moisture and leaves skin feeling healthy and supple.

Note: Our body oils are without any fillers and are rich and concentrated. A tiny amount truly does go a long way.

Show extra dry spots TLC

Give those pesky dry spots (like heels and cuticles) an extra dose of oil to show those areas some tender love and care. It’ll make all the difference in the long run.

Use it as a massage oil

Another great way to put your body oil to good use is to use it as a massage oil. Massage your entire body or wherever you need it the most. This will make your skin soft, loosen up the muscles, and relieve stress

Abhyanga Self-Massage (Pre-Shower)

1.Apply the oil to your whole body, including the top of your head. Massage the oil into your scalp, moving in circular motions.

2.Continue to your forehead, ears, cheeks, and jaws.

3.Massage your chest and abdomen, moving in clockwise and circular strokes. On your trunk, massage inward along your ribs.

4.Continue to your back and butt. Massage in straight, long motions on your arms and legs. Move in circular motions on your joints.

5.Massage your feet, including your toes and soles.

6.Relax for 10 minutes to let your skin absorb the oil.

7.Have a shower. Use a gentle cleanser to remove the oil.
